Download Yester for Mac
A small menu bar app and a helper that keeps backing up even when the app is closed. Notarised with Developer ID and distributed from this site, not the App Store.
First run takes about five minutes
Open the disk image and sign in
Drag Yester to Applications and open it. Sign in with Apple, or with your email and a six-digit code. New account? Yester creates one and asks which country your backups should be kept in.
Enter your admin password
Yester installs a small helper that runs backups on a schedule, even when the app is closed and even while you’re logged out. macOS asks for your password once.
Allow Full Disk Access
System Settings opens on the right page. Switch Yester on so it can back up everything — Mail, Photos, Messages and app data included, not just your Documents folder.
Save your recovery key
Yester shows it once. Put it in your password manager, print it, or let Yester keep a copy in your iCloud Keychain. Everything is encrypted on your Mac with a key only you hold — Yester cannot recover your data without it.
Choose a plan
Yester detects your Mac’s built-in storage and shows the price. Add a card and you’re done — the first backup starts straight away. If it isn’t for you, ask for a full refund within 60 days.
Most important things go first — documents, desktop and projects are safe within the hour. Photos and apps follow. Yester pauses on battery power, slows down during video calls, and picks up where it left off if you close the lid. Leave your Mac plugged in and awake overnight to get it done sooner.
